This 1990 Jaguar XJR-15, driven to victory by Juan Manuel Fangio II at the 1991 Formula One support race at Silverstone, is now up for sale. This marks the first time in its 33-year history that the car has been made available to the public. It still sports its original JaguarSport International Challenge livery and bears Fangio’s signature. Jaguar constructed 16 of these race cars in collaboration with Tom Walkinshaw Racing (TWR). This particular model is chassis 48. It boasts a 6.0-liter V-12 engine delivering 450 horsepower, a six-speed manual gearbox with straight-cut gears, and a triple-plate carbon-fiber AP Racing clutch. Beneath its carbon body panels lies a carbon-fiber monocoque—a cutting-edge feature for the early 1990s. The Jaguar is equipped with exceptionally wide Pirelli P Zero Assimetrico tires—measuring 13 inches at the rear and nine at the front—encasing 17-inch OZ alloy wheels. Steel AP Racing four-piston brakes ensure stopping power at all four corners, while a limited-slip differential aids in torque distribution. The carbon-exposed cabin is notably spartan. It includes essential dials for speed and revs, as well as gauges monitoring vehicle vitals such as oil temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and water temperature. The interior features a carbon-fiber racing seat with a four-point Sabelt harness and a fire suppression system. The car is currently listed for sale on Pistonheads through The Octane Collection, an exotic car dealer in the United Kingdom. Although no price is specified, given the rarity and desirability of even standard, street-legal XJR-15s, this one is sure to command a high price. The best part? The sale includes a 600-mile Jaguar XJR-S, allowing you to drive to the track before switching to your XJR-15 race car.
