The 2024 Barcelona Superyacht Regatta is gearing up for an exciting three-day racing event, running parallel to the 37th America’s Cup from 4-6 October 2024. Organized by the Reial Club Nà€utic de Barcelona (RCNB) and BWA Yachting, this prestigious race is endorsed by the SuperYacht Racing Association (SYRA). Halekai, a 39.4-meter vessel, was constructed in the United Kingdom by Pendennis and launched in 2020. As one of the two Truly Classic 128 models, she offers accommodation for up to six guests across three staterooms, supported by a crew of five. Designed by Hoek Design Naval Architects, who also handled the naval architecture and interior design, Halekai boasts a top speed of 15.0 knots, surpassing the average by 2.84 knots for yachts of similar size. Recently, she underwent sail servicing in Palma, Mallorca, in preparation for the upcoming race, equipped with North3Di sails and a new spinnaker staysail.
Jasi, a 35.11-meter yacht built by Nautor Swan in Finland and delivered in 2018, can host up to six guests in three staterooms, with a crew of five. Designed by German Frers, who also managed the naval architecture, and featuring interiors by deVosdeVries Design, Jasi ranks among the top 30% by length overall globally and is one of 213 sailing yachts in the 35-40m category. Last year, she made her debut at the Ibiza JoySail (Performance class), finishing second in all three races in a closely contested battle against Moat, who ultimately won overall.
V, formerly known as Tango, is a 30.48-meter WallyCento yacht built by Persico Marine and delivered in 2017. Designed by Mills Design, who also oversaw the naval architecture, and featuring interiors by Pininfarina, she accommodates up to six guests in three staterooms, with a crew of four. Among the 390 sailing yachts in the 30-35m range, her cruising speed exceeds the average by 1.21 knots. V has shown strong potential, winning the Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta combined Performance and Cruising Class in Porto Cervo last year, marking her first race under new ownership.
Fidelis, the tenth and final unit in Perini Navi's 56M series, is an all-aluminium ketch sailing yacht with a top speed of 15.5 knots, powered by twin Caterpillar engines. She can accommodate up to 12 guests in six staterooms, with a crew of nine. Designed by Ron Holland Design, with naval architecture by Perini Navi and interiors also by Perini Navi, Fidelis is a notable contender in the superyacht racing scene.
Esence, a 43.7-meter yacht from the Wally stable and the sole 143 model, boasts a top speed of 14.0 knots and is powered by a Caterpillar diesel engine. She can host up to eight guests, with a crew of six. Designed by Luca Bassani Design and Wally, with naval architecture by Bill Tripp and interiors by Odile Decq, Esence was delivered in 2006. She set a new standard in hi-tech pre-preg carbon fibre construction with a displacement of just 140 tons, making her the lightest sailing superyacht at the time of her launch.
