Sir Nick Faldo, the tournament host and organizer of the Faldo Series European Grand Final, is all set to kick off the event tomorrow (Tuesday) at the renowned Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting & Golf Club.
The 2024 Faldo Series European Grand Final is one of the most eagerly awaited junior golf events. With 58 elite competitors from 19 countries ready to compete, the stakes are high as this tournament serves as a World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) qualifier. The players will compete over 54 holes across four categories: Boys Under 16, Boys Under 18, Girls Under 16, and Girls Under 21, all vying for the coveted Faldo Series Champion title.
In addition to the competitive aspect, players will have a unique chance to learn from the golf legend himself. Sir Nick Faldo, widely considered one of the greatest players ever, will host an exclusive players’ clinic on Wednesday, sharing his extensive knowledge and inspiring the future stars of golf. The event will also feature a thrilling desert safari experience on Tuesday evening, offering a perfect blend of sport and adventure for players and guests.
Shane Peacock, Director of Golf at Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting & Golf Club, expressed excitement about hosting the prestigious Faldo Series European Grand Final once again. He highlighted the exceptional condition of the golf course, with greens running at 11 feet and five inches on the stimpmeter.
The Faldo Series, launched in 1996, has grown exponentially and is now the largest and most successful global junior golf series. Sir Nick Faldo’s vision, along with his dedicated team of industry experts, aims to create a lasting legacy in junior golf, nurturing future champions. Notable alumni of the Faldo Series include Rory McIlroy (NI), Tyrrell Hatton (Eng), Nick Dougherty (Eng), Danny Willett (Eng), Mel Reid (Eng), and Carly Booth (Scot).
The first tee time tomorrow (Tuesday) is scheduled for 9.00 am, with the final tee time at 10.50 am off both the first and tenth tees.
