The 2024 President’s Cup, a biennial competition pitting the US against the Rest of the World (excluding Europe), is scheduled to occur at the Royal Montreal Golf Club in Canada from September 24th to 29th. Each team, consisting of twelve players, will engage in a four-day match-play event. The teams are formed from a combination of automatic qualifiers and captain's selections. Jim Furyk leads the US team, while Mike Weir, from Canada, captains the ROW team. Initiated in 1994, notable matches include the International Team's victory in Australia in 1998 and the memorable draw in South Africa in 2003 at the Fancourt Hotel and Country Club. The US has won all other encounters. Following changes influenced by LIV Golf, both teams are expected to feature new players. It is mandatory for all participants, whether automatic qualifiers or captain's picks, to be eligible for PGA Tour-sanctioned events. Qualification based on FedEx Cup points for the US and OWGR points for the International Team began on January 1st, 2024. The top six players in the rankings will secure their spots, with the remaining positions on the 12-man teams to be decided by captain's picks after the 2024 BMW Championship on August 26th, 2024. Current rankings after the Travelers Championship show Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffler, Collin Morikawa, Wyndham Clark, Patrick Cantlay, and Sahith Theegala leading the US team, while Hideki Matsuyama, Jason Day, Tae-Hoon Kim, Byeong-Hun An, Sungjae Im, and Nick Taylor head the International Team.
