The 2024 UAE Government Annual Meetings will commence on Monday in Abu Dhabi under the leadership and chairmanship of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai.
This year's agenda is structured around three national pathways, emphasizing national identity, family, and artificial intelligence (AI). It also features eight panel discussions on national priorities, with the involvement of leaders from federal and local government entities. Over 500 dignitaries, including rulers, crown princes, and government officials, are expected to attend.
Significant transformations are anticipated in this sixth iteration of the Annual Meetings, encompassing organizational changes, revised priorities, an updated agenda, new guiding principles, and objectives. Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, highlighted that the agenda includes more than ten plenary sessions addressing future national directions in areas such as economy and investment, AI, education, sports, family, and community empowerment.
Notable additions for this year's Annual Meetings include national retreats, dedicated sessions with local governments, a focus on empowering young national government leaders, amplifying citizen voices in the meetings, celebrating national project achievements, and recognizing those responsible for their implementation.
The UAE remains steadfast in its commitment to delivering the most efficient government model, a principle underscored since the inaugural UAE Government Annual Meetings in 2017. This commitment is further exemplified by the comprehensive enhancements evident in this year's sixth session.
The event, which runs until November 5, will begin with exclusive meetings for the Cabinet, five federal councils, and national and local committees. Additionally, three exclusive meetings will be held by the executive councils for the local governments of Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, and Ras Al Khaimah.
The Government Meetings will assess the outcomes of national strategies and plans aligned with the 'We the UAE 2031' vision and its supporting pathways, focusing on the UAE's future directions. They will also review development agendas, evaluate achievements from the past year in light of the fifth annual meetings' outcomes, address key challenges, and outline a clear implementation plan for the next phase of government initiatives.
With the participation of key national sectors and decision-makers, the meetings aim to shape visions and development plans to improve the quality of life and secure a brighter future for the next generation, emphasizing both future readiness and achieving current objectives as the country advances toward the UAE Centennial 2071 plan.
