This year has witnessed numerous high-profile launches and deliveries in the superyacht industry, including the world's first fuel-cell superyacht and the highly anticipated 142.1-metre Lürssen Dragonfly. However, the excitement in superyacht construction never wanes. To commemorate the release of the 2025 Global Order Book, BOAT delves into the shipyards and highlights the largest superyachts currently under construction.
At 194.9 metres, REV Ocean remains the largest yacht under construction globally. She is set to be the flagship of Norwegian shipyard Vard, with design by Espen Øino and H2 Yacht Design. Work on this monumental project paused in 2021 but resumed in 2023, with a launch anticipated for 2025. At the 2024 Explorer Yachts Summit, REV Ocean CEO Nina Jensen discussed the yacht’s ambitious mission and design, noting its potential as a scientific research platform.
Project Deep Blue, a 134.2-metre motor yacht under construction by Lürssen, is expected to be delivered in 2025. The last reported sighting of this project was in 2023 when it was at the yard's facility in Bremen, Germany. Currently under construction with Croatian shipyard Brodotrogir, Project Vela is a 130-metre sail yacht, scheduled for delivery in June 2026.
Few details are available on the Lürssen 13798, commissioned in 2023. The yacht is projected to measure between 120 and 130 metres in length and boast an estimated gross tonnage of 10,500GT. Delivery is expected in 2027. Project Tanzanite, a 120-metre motor yacht under construction in the Netherlands, is set to become the flagship of Amels, with delivery slated for 2025.
The 118.8-metre Project 821 is a record-breaker, being the first superyacht to utilise fuel-cell technology. She marks a 'new, clean technology for the world' according to Feadship director and CEO Jan-Bart Verkuyl. Project 821 recently completed her sea trials near IJmuiden, Amsterdam, with delivery imminent.
This big Lürssen build was commissioned in 2022 by an American owner. Specific details about the Lürssen 13797 remain tightly under wraps, though she is believed to have an impressive gross tonnage of 5,350GT. Delivery is scheduled for early 2026 according to BOATPro.
Project Cosmos is yet another mega-build by German shipyard Lürssen, with a delivery set for 2026. The 114.2-metre project features an explorer-style profile with a glass observation lounge, swimming pool, and a large tender bay.
In July, German shipyard Dorries Yachts unveiled the 'Nest', the standout observation platform on its 113.5-metre Project Arwen. Under construction in Bremerhaven and set to launch in 2026, she will serve as the flagship of Dorries Yachts.
With a delivery date set for summer 2026, Oceanco's Y726 entered outfitting in December 2023. Interior details by Mark Berryman are described as 'refined', with little else disclosed. Leisure features include a cinema lounge, gym, spa, and a multi-purpose entertainment area with a Jacuzzi and swimming pool.
Joining Project Y726 is Oceanco's Project Y722. Last seen in June 2023, her delivery is slated for summer 2025. Expected to sit just under 5,000GT, she will be the largest yacht by volume built by the Dutch shipyard.
First sighted at Lürssen’s Peene-Werft naval yard in 2022, Project Icecap is set to be a highly capable explorer yacht. The 107-metre vessel, with its axe-style bow and forward superstructure, will safely handle rough seas and offers ample cargo-carrying capacity on the open aft deck.
This June saw the launch of Freire’s 107-metre Project Incógnita from its shipyard in Vigo, Spain. She is on track for delivery in 2026, with images showing the completed hull and pending installation of the superstructure.
Lürssen first unveiled the details of the 103-metre Project Jassj at the 2021 Monaco Yacht Show. Designed by British studio RWD, the superyacht offers accommodation for 22 guests across 11 cabins and features an 'industry-leading' beach club aft.
Scheduled for delivery in July 2026, the 101.2-metre Project 1014 joins a series of confidential builds by her Dutch shipyard. She was last sighted this year as she entered the outfitting phase at Feadship's Makkum facility in the Netherlands.
With a length of 101 metres, Feadship's Project 1013 is scheduled for delivery in summer 2025. She was last seen in October 2023 when her bare hull was launched at Feadship's Zwijnenburg facility.
Turkish shipyard AKYACHT has signed a contract for the construction of a superyacht exceeding 100 metres, known as Project Jash, with delivery scheduled for 2028. This project, set to be the largest superyacht built in Turkey, follows the shipyard's current flagship – the award-winning 85-metre Victorious.
The last significant milestone in Feadship’s Project 824 was the joining of the hull and superstructure in September 2023. The yacht has since moved out of the NMC facility and is now in Kaag for outfitting works.
With a length of 100 metres, Project Titanium is set to become the flagship of Admiral – The Italian Sea Group upon delivery in 2026. Designed by Winch Design, details taken from 2021 showed plans for a certified helicopter landing pad, expansive pool, spa, and a multi-deck saloon.
The 89-metre Project 828 is scheduled for delivery in June 2026, after beginning construction in March 2023. With a gross tonnage of 2,623GT, she joins other Feadship projects that maintain an air of mystery.
The most recent progress on Project Spyder was announced in February with the laying of her keel. Scheduled for delivery in 2027, she will be the second-largest build under the Admiral brand.
Turquoise Yachts' largest project to date, the 87-metre Project Vento was transferred to the yard's site in Pendik, Turkey in late August 2023, where she has been undergoing outfitting.
