Nissan's largest SUV, the Armada, is undergoing a significant overhaul for 2025. The three-row vehicle has been entirely redesigned, featuring a more angular exterior, a technology-packed interior, a new engine, and, for the first time in the US market, an off-road-focused trim. The 2025 Armada is equipped with a new 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine, sourced from the Infiniti QX80, delivering 425 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque, surpassing the previous V-8 by 25 horsepower and 103 pound-feet. This engine is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission and features standard adaptive four-wheel drive.

The 2025 model boasts a 25% increase in torsional rigidity and a 57% increase in lateral stiffness compared to its predecessor, enhancing ride quality and off-road capabilities, especially with the new Pro-4X trim. Nissan also introduces a standard class four tow hitch, allowing the Armada to tow up to 8,500 pounds. The Pro-4X trim includes enhancements such as 20-inch all-terrain tires, an adaptive air suspension, a metal skid plate, and an electronic locking rear differential, previously exclusive to the Middle Eastern Nissan Patrol.

For those less inclined towards off-roading, Nissan offers the Platinum Reserve model, featuring exclusive 22-inch wheels, an adaptive air suspension, a rear LED light bar with a full-width taillight, and interior upgrades like massaging seats and a head-up display. Safety features are abundant, including automatic emergency braking, high-beam assist, blind-spot monitoring, and a lane-departure warning. New for 2025 is a wide front view camera system offering up to 170 degrees of visibility and an 'invisible' hood on select models.

All 2025 Armada models come standard with Pro Pilot Assist, which includes steering, acceleration, and braking inputs. Higher trim levels offer Nissan’s Pro Pilot 2.1 system, featuring hands-free highway driving capabilities. Interior technology includes two 12.3-inch screens on lower trims, with higher trims upgrading to dual 14.3-inch displays. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard across the lineup. Pricing for the 2025 Nissan Armada has not been announced, but it is expected to remain competitive with rivals such as the Chevrolet Tahoe, Ford Expedition, and Toyota Sequoia. Sales are anticipated to begin later this year.
