Just as the half-ton Ram 1500 received a notable update for 2025, the Ram HD is also undergoing significant changes. Although full details are yet to be disclosed, Ram has begun final on-road testing of prototypes without camouflage, prompting the company to release a few teaser images showcasing the exterior updates.

Rest assured, the robust exterior of the Ram HD remains largely unchanged. The truck retains its larger-than-life grille, now with a prominent notch at the bottom. The headlights, which vary across different trim levels, all feature a split-light design. Black or body-colored trim separates the upper and lower sections of the lights. At the rear, new taillights are visible, at least on the Ram 2500 Rebel, which is the only pickup shown from the back in these teasers.

The most significant changes might be under the hood. While Cummins diesel power is confirmed, as indicated by the visible Cummins badges on the blue and red pickups, the white truck could be a base model Tradesman due to its unmarked gray face. The 6.4-liter Hemi V-8 might still be available as the entry-level option, producing 410 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque in the current model. However, the standard-output Hurricane I-6 engine outperforms the Hemi with 420 hp and 469 pound-feet of torque, while the high-output Hurricane boasts an impressive 540 hp.

Despite the Hemi's discontinuation in the 1500 series, its retention in the HD lineup could help Ram retain loyal V-8 customers. A full reveal of the 2025 HD lineup is expected before the end of the year.
