Volkswagen has simplified the process of building your 2025 Jetta GLI. There's just one option available, and your main choice is between the six-speed manual and the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. Both versions have the same starting price of $33,940, which includes the $1,225 destination charge. The sole option is the $650 Black Package, which includes a black roof, black mirror caps, and new 18-inch black wheels for the refreshed sedan.
Volkswagen has updated the entire Jetta line for 2025, with changes to the front-end design and cabin enhancements. The GLI benefits from these updates with a new free-standing eight-inch infotainment screen. It also features three USB-C ports—two above the 15-watt wireless charging pad and one in the center console storage box. Additionally, it includes Climatronic touch climate controls and touch steering-wheel buttons.
Under the hood, the Jetta GLI retains the turbocharged 2.0-liter EA888 four-cylinder engine, delivering 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Standard features include a limited-slip differential, a lowered suspension, and VW’s Dynamic Chassis Control in the front-wheel-drive model. The 2025 Jetta GLI is more expensive than the 2025 Honda Civic Si but offers more power and an automatic option, unlike the Si. It is also cheaper than the $35,100 Elantra N, though the Hyundai offers nearly 50 hp more, especially with the six-speed manual. The Elantra N with the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission starts at $36,950.
