A 7-year-old student who died in a car accident on Hatta-Lahbab road on Tuesday was described as sweet and caring by his uncle, who spoke to Khaleej Times. The boy, a Grade 2 student at a school in Dubai, was among 12 passengers packed into the vehicle that swerved, hit an iron barrier, and overturned. The family is still uncertain about the details of the accident, according to the uncle, Tawheed, a Bangladeshi national. He mentioned that the car was rented and was transporting children home from school when the incident occurred. The driver is currently in jail.

The boy's younger brother, aged six, was also in the car and was hospitalized but has since been discharged. They have another sibling, a younger sister, who is too young for school. Dubai Police stated in a press release that initial investigations point to speeding, negligence, and lack of attention by the driver as the causes of the accident. This resulted in the driver losing control, leading to one student's death and the hospitalization of others with mild to moderate injuries, according to Maj-Gen Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, acting commandant assistant for Operations Affairs.

Tawheed noted that the family does not know the other students in the car, who were mostly Indian. Their immediate concern is to repatriate the body of their nephew to Bangladesh. They have started the necessary paperwork and cancellations, with some additional documents still required, which might take another two days.
