German shipyard Abeking & Rasmussen has recently laid the keel for a 79.9-metre superyacht, currently referred to as hull 6516. The ceremony took place at G&K SteelCon's facilities in Świnoujście, Poland, with representatives from the client, the shipyard, classification society, and subcontractors in attendance.
While details about the new build remain limited, Abeking & Rasmussen has disclosed that the design is being handled by a "well-known, UK-based design office." The yacht will boast a range of amenities, including tenders, water toys, and "modern yet cozy" interiors.
This project follows the delivery of the largest yacht ever built at Abeking & Rasmussen, the 118.2-metre Liva O, which was delivered in December 2023. Liva O features an array of impressive design elements, such as a Neptune lounge with a 3.4-metre by 1.3-metre semi-submerged window.
A spokesperson for the yard expressed pride in the opportunity to construct this remarkable yacht, emphasizing the long-standing tradition of 80-metre projects that incorporate cutting-edge technology and equipment.
