The Abu Dhabi Federal Court of Appeal has sentenced three Bangladeshi nationals to life imprisonment and ordered the deportation and imprisonment of 54 others for their involvement in a riot. Authorities arrested a group of Bangladeshi individuals who were accused of assembling and instigating riots in various streets across the UAE on Friday.
Previously, Chancellor Dr. Hamad Saif Al Shamsi, the UAE Attorney-General, had directed an immediate investigation and expedited the trial of the suspects. According to the prosecution, the protesters had disrupted transportation and vandalized both public and private property, as stated in a release issued on Saturday.
