Abu Dhabi Mobility has introduced a new taxi booking service in the emirate, utilizing the international ride-hailing app Yango. This service allows passengers to book both public and private taxis, as well as licensed private vehicles. During the trial phase, over 300 taxis were operational within Abu Dhabi, completing more than 8,000 trips via the Yango app in the past five months.

The Yango mobile app, which boasts over 1,500 registered taxis, is available for free download on iOS and Android platforms in multiple languages, including Arabic and English. To book a taxi, users simply open the app and input their destination. With geolocation enabled, the service identifies the user's location and assigns the nearest available driver for a quick pickup.

This service also addresses the common issue of lost items in taxis. Drivers are encouraged to return any found belongings to their owners or to the nearest police station. Additionally, drivers are required to document all information related to these items, in coordination with the franchise companies, and provide it to Abu Dhabi Mobility upon request.

Residents of Abu Dhabi can also book taxis through the Abu Dhabi Taxi app or by calling 600535353. Yango, part of the global tech company Yango Group, specializes in daily transport and logistics.

Abdulla Al Marzouqi, Director General of the Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility), emphasized that integrating this service with international apps enhances taxi operations' efficiency, making it easier for the community to locate and book rides electronically. This initiative connects public and private taxis, along with licensed private vehicles, with passengers through secure, approved electronic platforms and smart apps, supporting the emirate's goal of reducing its carbon footprint by improving taxi and transport system efficiency.

Islam Abdul Karim, General Manager of Yango GCC, expressed pride in launching Yango in Abu Dhabi in partnership with Abu Dhabi Mobility. He highlighted that this collaboration leverages innovative technology and advanced infrastructure to enhance urban mobility and provide a seamless transportation experience for both residents and tourists. Abdul Karim looks forward to contributing to the progress of the vibrant emirate.
