As temperatures drop and the weather cools down, residents and tourists flock to public parks across the UAE. With parks preparing to welcome outdoor enthusiasts, Abu Dhabi's Municipality has advised the public to utilize designated areas for barbecues. The authority emphasized the importance of using these areas and facilities responsibly to maintain park cleanliness, promote sustainability, and ensure a healthy and tidy environment for all visitors.
The municipality has set up concrete platforms for visitors to enjoy barbecues in a safe setting. Additionally, they provide containers for disposing of waste and used charcoal residues, ensuring that green spaces and trees remain unharmed. The authority has designated approximately 253 barbecue spots within 28 parks and gardens, both on and off Abu Dhabi Island. Specific outdoor locations have been identified for these areas.
On Abu Dhabi Island, designated barbecue areas can be found in the following parks and gardens: Official Park, Old Airport Park, Family Park 1, Family Park 2, Heritage Park, Heritage Park 4, Heritage Park 5, Al Zaafrana Park, Dolphin Park, Al Nahda Park, Arabian Gulf Park 1, Arabian Gulf Park 2, Al Boom Park, and Al Mazoon Park (Al Qurm Beach).
In Khalifa City, designated barbecue areas are available in: Al Jouri Park, Al Fan Park, Al Arjuwan Park, Al Qadi Park, Al Bairaq Park, Burjeel Park, Al Shamkha Square, Al Fanous Park in Al Shamkha City, Rabdan Park, Al Rahba Square, Al Wathba Park, and Al Salamiya Park.
The authority has launched an awareness campaign titled 'Enjoy your barbecue and preserve your place,' which covers all areas and cities under the municipality's jurisdiction.
