Abu Dhabi Police have issued a stern warning to motorists engaging in reckless driving and causing disturbances in residential areas. According to the authority, drivers found guilty of such behavior will face a hefty fine of Dh2,000 and will receive 12 black points on their license.
In a 1.25-minute awareness video posted on X, Abu Dhabi Police emphasized the importance of responsible driving. The AI-generated video begins with an Emirati family of four enjoying a peaceful moment in their living room, only to be disrupted by the loud noise of a vehicle's engine and screeching tires. The scene then shifts to a sports car being driven recklessly on the street.
The young son, visibly disturbed, asks his father in Arabic, 'Dad, what's happening?' His sister chimes in, 'I'm scared.' The father reassures them, 'Don't worry, they are just reckless youth in the neighbourhood.' The mother, however, expresses her concern, 'They are terrifying everyone with these actions.'
The father then steps outside to speak with his neighbour, asking, 'Did you hear these sounds and noises? We should file a complaint.' The neighbour agrees, 'Yes, we heard. These troublesome youth, we should put an end to their actions.'
The video concludes with an Abu Dhabi Police patrol car pulling over the reckless driver. The officer addresses the camera, stating, 'Dear drivers, noise is considered uncivilised behaviour, tarnishing the community's image, causing disturbance, and instilling fear in others. Therefore, avoid reckless driving in residential areas. The fine for driving a vehicle causing noise is Dh2,000 and 12 traffic points.'
