Abu Dhabi’s Global Media Congress is set to host groundbreaking discussions on the future of the industry. Scheduled from November 26 to 28 at the ADNEC Centre, the third edition of this annual event will focus on the challenges of digital transformation in news content, enhancing creativity among the youth, and the legal rights of the media industry.

“We don’t want to reveal all our surprises for the upcoming edition,” said Dr. Jamal Al Kaabi, Director-General of the National Media Office. “Seventy percent of our speakers this year are first-time participants, and we won’t disclose their names yet, but I can assure you that every talk and topic is unique and has never been discussed before. Our emphasis is solely on valuable content, not on who delivers it,” Dr. Al Kaabi added. “This morning, I instructed the organizing team that we must leave each session with actionable insights.”

The congress aims to attract over 30,000 visitors from around the world. Last year, more than 23,900 participants from 172 countries attended the Global Media Congress. So far, participants from 20 countries have registered, and more are expected to join. “We are still accepting applications, and we anticipate a significant increase in registrations,” Al Kaabi noted.

Additionally, the event will reflect local traditions in its design and atmosphere. The seating arrangement will resemble traditional Arabian majlises, and the opening ceremony will be conducted in Arabic. This year, unprecedented topics such as ‘media and early childhood’ will be discussed. “This is an issue we have not addressed before,” Al Kaabi mentioned.

The first day of the congress will focus on shaping the future of the industry and investments. Discussions will center on what drives media coverage in the digital age and the challenges it faces both now and in the past.

On the second day, the spotlight will be on media content and its regulations, the types of content that attract the most audience, and coverage of war and conflict. The preservation and strengthening of the Arabic language will also be a key topic.

The third day will explore the future of digital media, the challenges it presents, and the new horizons in media creation.
