Abu Dhabi's Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT) revealed on Tuesday, October 15, that the UAE's capital city will soon host the iconic Las Vegas Sphere. This groundbreaking entertainment venue promises a fresh and immersive experience for both residents and tourists, offering a diverse range of events, concerts, and shows.

The Sphere is anticipated to rival the grandeur of its Las Vegas counterpart, with a seating capacity of 20,000. Its allure is expected to attract visitors throughout the year. While the exact location remains undisclosed, DCT Abu Dhabi assures that the Sphere will be situated in a prime location within the emirate.

James L Dolan, Executive Chairman and CEO of Sphere Entertainment, commented, "Sphere is revolutionizing live entertainment, broadening its transformative influence." Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of DCT Abu Dhabi, expressed enthusiasm, stating, "We are thrilled to introduce Sphere to Abu Dhabi in collaboration with Sphere Entertainment, offering our community and guests an unparalleled new form of entertainment. Sphere Abu Dhabi will blend cutting-edge technology with compelling narratives, crafting indelible memories for all who visit."

The partnership, pending finalization, will see DCT Abu Dhabi paying a franchise initiation fee to Sphere Entertainment for the rights to construct the venue, utilizing its proprietary designs, technology, and intellectual property. Funding for the construction will be provided by DCT Abu Dhabi, with Sphere Entertainment's team of specialists overseeing development, construction, and pre-opening operations.
