Abu Dhabi's Department of Health has declared that health insurance penalties will be waived for individuals who have violated entry and residence regulations and have applied to regularize their status. This announcement was made on Saturday.
As the two-month UAE visa amnesty program is scheduled to commence on Sunday, September 1, those residing illegally in the UAE have the option to either regularize their residency status or depart the country without incurring fines. The Federal Authority For Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP) had earlier stated that neither overstay fines nor exit fees would be enforced. Furthermore, those choosing to leave will not face an entry ban and can re-enter the UAE at any time with the appropriate visa.
