Last year at The Quail in Monterey, Acura unveiled its sleek ZDX electric SUV and hinted at an electric sports car with NSX influences. This year, however, the spotlight in Monterey shifts to another electric vehicle from Acura, though many details remain shrouded in mystery. A solitary teaser image reveals the rear of a vehicle that appears quite stylish. The taillights are distinctive, opting for a flowing light bar across the trunk lid instead of the usual triangular design seen on current Acura models. Beneath this, the Acura wordmark is prominently displayed, and the vehicle is adorned with a blue paint scheme.

Acura has confirmed that this will be their first SUV manufactured in Ohio on their new dedicated EV platform, suggesting it won't utilize Ultium technology. It is unlikely to be the compact ADX, leading us to speculate that it might be an ultra-premium model, possibly an SUV 'coupe,' a segment currently unrepresented in Acura's lineup. Described as a 'performance' concept, it is said to preview a 'segment-defying sport utility vehicle.'

Further specifics are currently scarce. However, all will be revealed when Monterey Car Week commences on Monday, August 12. Acura plans to showcase this concept on the lawn at The Quail on Friday, August 16. We will be present to bring you more details, so keep an eye out for updates.
