Advanced inspection devices have been installed at sea customs centers in Abu Dhabi, featuring two systems for scanning bags and parcels, two systems for scanning containers and trucks at Khalifa Port, and one system for scanning containers at Zayed Port. Each system is capable of processing up to 120 trucks per hour and is linked to a control room for ongoing operation monitoring. The five sophisticated devices meet the highest radiological health and safety standards and are in line with international specifications and standards. This initiative is part of continuous efforts to boost the efficiency of customs operations at Abu Dhabi's border ports. Under a project by the General Administration of Abu Dhabi Customs, these devices are equipped with modern technology supported by artificial intelligence systems and employ rapid scan technology. Equipping sea customs centers with advanced devices is a strategic project for Abu Dhabi Customs, designed to meet the needs of all customs ports, enhance operational efficiency, and expedite inspection processes, thereby positively affecting the smooth flow of goods, facilitating trade, and supporting sustainable economic development. Mubarak Matar Al Mansoori, Executive Director of the Operations Sector at Abu Dhabi Customs, confirmed that this project is an extension of Abu Dhabi Customs' efforts to reinforce the inspection system, following the successful deployment of advanced devices at Al Ain's land customs centers in January.
