Air France and its subsidiary Transavia France have once more extended the suspension of their flights to Beirut, this time until Wednesday, August 15, due to ongoing tensions in the region, the companies announced on Monday.

The flights have been suspended since July 29 due to the "security situation in Lebanon," and their resumption "will depend on a fresh evaluation of the situation on the ground," according to an Air France statement.

Air France and its low-cost subsidiary, Transavia, have ceased flights to the Lebanese capital since July 29, following Israel's pledge to respond after rocket attacks from Lebanon resulted in the death of 12 people in the Israeli-annexed Golan Heights. Other airlines have also halted flights to Beirut.

Lufthansa and Lufthansa's Eurowings cancelled three flights to Beirut scheduled for July 29 afternoon, as per the airport's information board and flight tracking website Flightradar24. Turkish Airlines also cancelled two overnight flights on July 28, and Turkey-based budget carrier SunExpress, Turkish Airlines subsidiary AJet, Greek carrier Aegean Airlines, Ethiopian Air, and MEA have all cancelled flights intended to land in Beirut on July 29, according to Flightradar24.
