Air France has announced the suspension of its flights to Tel Aviv and Beirut for Sunday and Monday, following Israel's initiation of air strikes in Lebanon.
"Flights scheduled for today and tomorrow are suspended," stated a spokesperson for the French airline, noting that the suspension may be prolonged based on developments in the Middle East. Normally operating daily services to both cities, Air France had previously suspended flights to Beirut from July 29 to August 15, but continued to operate flights to Tel Aviv. The airline did not specify if its low-cost subsidiary, Transavia, which also flies to these destinations, would halt its services.
Meanwhile, German airline Lufthansa has extended its suspension of flights to Beirut until the end of September and has announced it will not operate flights to Tel Aviv and Tehran until September 2.
