Starting from September 10, Air India has announced that the check-in counter for international departures from Delhi will close 75 minutes before the scheduled departure time. Previously, the counter closed 60 minutes prior. This change has been made to provide "ample time for check-in procedures and security clearance, especially during peak periods," according to a post on X. Air India emphasized that this adjustment aims to ensure a smooth and comfortable travel experience for all passengers.
The airline has requested the cooperation of passengers to arrive at the airport well in advance of the new closure time. India-Dubai is one of the busiest air routes, as the UAE hosts the largest Indian diaspora, comprising more than one-third of the UAE’s population. Additionally, Dubai is a highly popular destination among Indian tourists. According to Dubai Economy and Tourism figures, India was the leading source of tourists to Dubai in the first ten months of 2023, with over 1.99 million visitors, a 39% increase.
Passengers returning from Delhi to the UAE should be aware of the new closure time and plan their schedules accordingly to ensure timely arrival at the airport.
