Trucks from various companies faced penalties in Ajman for transporting sand without the necessary permit. These heavy vehicles were confiscated and impounded, and substantial fines were levied, according to the Ajman Municipality on Saturday. The unauthorized transport of sand is a punishable offense with a minimum fine of Dh3,000, in addition to vehicle impoundment. The offenders were apprehended as the emirate's authorities intensify inspections and monitoring to ensure public adherence to regulations. Last week, the Ajman Police reminded drivers to uphold lane discipline, highlighting the Dh1,000 fine and four-black-point penalty for illegal lane changes. Authorities also emphasized the importance of using indicators when changing lanes, adhering to safety protocols when driving in rain, avoiding distracted driving, and not exceeding the designated speed limits.
