The UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation has announced that the AJP Tour Dubai International Jiu-Jitsu Championship will start on Friday at Shabab Al Ahli, Dubai. The event, which will conclude on Sunday, September 1, is expected to feature approximately 1,400 male and female participants from numerous clubs and academies around the world. Over the three days, the competition will begin with kids' matches on the first day, followed by youth and masters' contests on the second day, and conclude with amateur and professional bouts on the final day. This prestigious championship attracts top athletes globally, offering 600 ranking points to the winner of each category, boosting their prospects of competing in the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship and qualifying for the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Awards at the season's end.

“The AJP Tour Dubai International Jiu-Jitsu Championship is highly regarded both locally and internationally and marks a significant event for all athletes. The AJP tour events are renowned for their exceptional organization and professionalism, making them the perfect stage to draw elite athletes from the region and worldwide,” stated Mohamed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation. “One of the championship's most valuable features is its emphasis on kids and youth, who are pivotal to the sport's future and its development in the years ahead. This aligns with the Federation's strategy to identify and support talent, fostering champions who can compete on the global stage.” Tariq Al-Bahri, General Manager of Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Pro, added: “The AJP Tour Dubai International Jiu-Jitsu Championship seeks to play a vital role in advancing the sport of jiu-jitsu and expanding its global influence, capitalizing on Abu Dhabi's status as the world's jiu-jitsu capital and the ideal venue for the largest jiu-jitsu championships and events, as well as a destination for champions from around the world.”

Igor Silva, coach of Commando Group Academy, expressed confidence in his team's performance. “The AJP Tour Dubai International Jiu-Jitsu Championship has always been a significant milestone for our athletes, and we are meticulously preparing to ensure a strong performance in the championship,” Silva commented. “We applaud the UAEJJF and AJP for organizing world-class championships that contribute to the growth of jiu-jitsu both locally and internationally. We eagerly anticipate the competitions this weekend and are confident that our athletes will excel, enhancing the club's reputation and adding new medals to our impressive record.” Ali Monfaradi, a competitor from Elements Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Bahrain, who will participate in the under-77kg category, is enthusiastic about the upcoming event. “I will compete in both the professional and masters categories. Both categories will feature strong competition, but I am confident in my ability to perform at a high level, as I won gold and silver in last year's edition,” Monfaradi noted.
