Al-Futtaim IKEA is excited to declare the grand opening of its latest store at City Centre Fujairah, signifying a major advancement in its ongoing expansion and dedication to innovation within the UAE. Emphasizing the accessibility of well-designed, functional, and sustainable products, Al-Futtaim IKEA remains steadfast in its commitment to affordability and quality. The grand opening was officiated by Vinod Jayan, managing director of Al-Futtaim IKEA, who expressed enthusiasm about this new phase in the company's UAE journey. "Today marks a new chapter in Al-Futtaim IKEA’s journey in the UAE. This is more than just a store opening; it’s a celebration of our continuous growth and our commitment to serving diverse communities across the Emirates," Jayan stated.
The new Fujairah store, the second of its kind in the UAE after the successful introduction of the small store concept at Al Wahda Mall in 2020, spans 2,750 sq m in a single-level format, offering a pleasant and engaging shopping experience. The marketplace features products available for immediate purchase, allowing customers to interact with and experience home furnishing solutions in a stimulating environment. Reflecting local tastes and preferences, the store includes seven room settings that mirror the local lifestyle and culture. Jayan noted that nearly 47% of the 4,000 displayed items are sustainable, underscoring IKEA’s dedication to healthy and sustainable living. The store is expected to achieve LEED Gold certification, indicating a design that consumes 10% less energy, saves 55% more water, and offers improved air quality.
Al-Futtaim IKEA is committed to fairness, equality, and affordability, with a nearly balanced gender ratio among its staff. The store embodies IKEA’s democratic design principles, ensuring that well-designed, functional, and sustainable products are accessible to all. The Fujairah store introduces the city’s first Bistro and Swedish Food Market, offering a sustainable food range and a self-serve ordering kiosk for a seamless dining experience. Comprehensive services, including interior design, assembly, delivery, and more, are provided to enhance the IKEA experience and facilitate a smooth shopping journey. Fuad Mansoor Sharaf, managing director of UAE Shopping Malls at Majid Al Futtaim Properties, expressed delight at welcoming the new IKEA store, highlighting its significance for Majid Al Futtaim and City Centre Fujairah, and its role in bringing exceptional shopping experiences closer to customers in the Northern Emirates.
