Al Wasl embarks on the 2024-2025 UAE Pro League season with a significant historical challenge. Having secured their inaugural league title in the professional era and their eighth overall last season, the team now aims to emulate the extraordinary feat achieved by Al Ain. The upcoming season, which commences this Friday, carries the burden of high expectations. Al Wasl is resolute in their quest to equal the back-to-back championship record set by Al Ain in the 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 seasons. A successful campaign would not only add another title to their illustrious history but also place them alongside their esteemed rivals.
Last season, Al Wasl achieved a remarkable double by winning the league title following their commanding 4-0 victory over Al Nasr in the President’s Cup final at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain. The new season kicks off with Al Wasl playing away against Kalba on Friday, followed by a home fixture against Dibba Al Hisn at Zabeel Stadium on August 29. Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi’s Al Wahda will face Ajman, and Al Orooba will take on Dubai’s Al Nasr in the season’s opening matches on Friday (6 pm). On Saturday, Bani Yas will play against Al Jazira, Shabab Al Ahli will face Al Bataeh, Al Ain will compete against Khor Fakkan, and Dibba Al-Hisn will clash with Sharjah.
In addition, the UAE Pro League has officially commenced ticket sales for the new season. Fans can acquire tickets online via the UAE Pro League’s website and the “Platinum List” platform, ensuring a seamless and convenient matchday experience. As part of its continuous effort to make football accessible to everyone, the UAE Pro League maintains its policy of allowing free entry for women, the elderly, and children, with free tickets available at the ticket office in all stadiums on match days.
