French actor Alain Delon passed away on 18th August at the age of 88, as reported by Le Figaro.

Born on 8th November 1935, Delon remained one of the most recognisable figures in world cinema for decades. His filmography includes around 80 films, among which are such renowned titles as "Purple Noon", "Rocco and His Brothers", "The Leopard", "The Black Tulip", "The Swimming Pool", and "Mr. Klein". Delon collaborated with distinguished directors such as Luchino Visconti, Jean-Luc Godard, Jean-Pierre Melville, Michelangelo Antonioni, and Louis Malle.

In addition to his work in films, he also appeared in television series and was involved in directing and producing. Moreover, Delon recorded several musical pieces, including a duet with Dalida titled "Paroles… Paroles…".

His artistic achievements were recognised with numerous awards at international film festivals, as well as the French national film award "César" and the American "Golden Globe". Alain Delon was honoured with the Legion of Honour.

In 2019, after suffering a stroke, Delon stated in an interview that he was open to the possibility of euthanasia.
