Alan Wake 2 was initially revealed to include two expansions, with the first, the genre-bending Night Springs expansion, released in June. Now, from the digital platform of the September 2024 State of Play, we have a clearer timeline for the second expansion's arrival. The Lake House expansion is set to debut in October, though an exact date has not been specified. The Night Springs expansion revolves around a Federal Bureau of Control research facility that was established and later fell into disarray, becoming isolated from the rest of Bright Falls before the events of Alan Wake 2. Various in-game notes and dialogues provide hints about the facility's fate, making it one of several unresolved mysteries that the game's dedicated community eagerly anticipates unraveling.

Judging from the trailer, the Lake House expansion could be the most intense chapter of Alan Wake 2, which makes its pre-Halloween release particularly fitting. The new trailer also features the voice of Saga Anderson, suggesting that players might once again control the game's secondary protagonist. However, given the unpredictable nature of the game, this remains uncertain, especially following the unconventional Night Springs expansion.

Both expansions for Alan Wake 2 are exclusively available as part of a bundle, either included with the Deluxe Edition of the game or as an upgrade for those who already own the base game.
