Ally Lewber and James Kennedy are more united than ever. Lewber, 28, recently spoke with The Post about the upcoming "Vanderpump Rules" reboot, noting that the absence of cameras has significantly improved her nearly three-year relationship with Kennedy.
"We've never been better. I believe it's largely due to the fact that we haven't been filming for a while," Lewber said at the Mediterranean-inspired pet food brand REÁL MESA event held at 1 Hotel West Hollywood on Tuesday. Last month, Bravo confirmed that "Vanderpump Rules" will return for Season 12 with a fresh cast, but Lewber isn't worried.
"I'm thrilled to let our relationship flourish without the added pressure of filming," she told The Post, expressing her anticipation for the new year without a camera crew. "It will be refreshing to have some privacy and focus solely on us," she added during the event with their dog, Hippie.
On November 26, the network announced that the next season will star Lisa Vanderpump alongside a new group of "tight-knit SUR-vers" who share the same complex dynamics as their predecessors. Production is set to start next year, though casting details remain undisclosed. Lewber mentioned two potential new cast members, Demi and Hannah, whom she hopes will join the show if they desire.
Lewber also revealed that the cast learned about Bravo's decision just a day before the public, though they had suspicions after a tumultuous last season due to the "Scandoval" drama. "It wasn't a complete shock, but still surprising, especially for James," she said, noting that they had a couple of days to process the news, and now, "It feels right. It makes sense."
Ariana Madix, another cast member, recently advised the new "Vanderpump Rules" cast to be authentic. "Be yourself. Trying to emulate past cast members won't work," she said at TheWrap's Power Women Summit 2024 on Tuesday. "Vanderpump Rules" premiered in 2013 as a spinoff of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" and followed the lives of servers at the West Hollywood restaurant SUR, including Tom Sandoval, Katie Maloney, Scheana Shay, Tom Schwartz, Kristen Doute, Jax Taylor, and Stassi Schroeder. The latter three were removed in 2020 following accusations of racism. Lala Kent, Raquel Leviss, Kennedy, and Lewber joined in later seasons, but chaos ensued in March 2023 when Sandoval was caught cheating on his then-girlfriend Madix with her best friend Leviss, leading to the "Scandoval" scandal. Cameras captured the fallout, but Madix refused to film with Sandoval during Season 11, marking their final appearance.
