Amazon has revised its shipping timelines for the Alien: Romulus Limited Edition Steelbook and has replenished stock of the standard 4K Blu-ray, 1080p Blu-ray, and DVD versions of the recently released movie.
When Alien: Romulus debuted on December 3, Amazon initially projected a wait time of up to two months for the Limited Edition Steelbook. However, Amazon now anticipates that orders placed today (December 8) will be delivered before Christmas.
Conversely, Walmart has completely sold out of the Steelbook. For those unconcerned with steelbook packaging, the most economical option is the 4K Blu-ray, priced at $30 on both Amazon and Walmart. This represents a $25 savings compared to the Limited Edition Steelbook.
Last week, Amazon was charging more than Walmart for each edition, but now both retailers offer identical pricing. Additionally, Amazon and Walmart are featuring attractive deals on other films in the Alien franchise, including the Ultimate Collector's Edition of Aliens, released on 4K Blu-ray earlier this year, and the Alien: 40th Anniversary Edition on 4K Blu-ray.
The Alien franchise has inspired a variety of merchandise, ranging from art books and novels to comic books and even a Little Golden Book designed to teach children the alphabet. This educational book is aptly titled A is for Alien: An ABC Book.
Books and comics dedicated to the Alien films and games are also available.
