This was precisely the case for Gaziza Shabdarbayeva, the founder of the brand InClover, whose new collection, Ice Queen, draws deeply from Hans Christian Andersen's beloved tale "The Snow Queen," a story she adored as a child.
"For me, the Snow Queen is more than just a character from a children's story; she embodies true grandeur and impeccable style — a genuine diva from the realm of fairy tales," the designer admits.
Yet these creations convey more than mere elegance and refinement. They reflect a profound harmony with nature, capturing winter's mysterious charm and that familiar sense of anticipation for something magical — an emotion each of us recognises from childhood.
The Ice Queen collection is a meticulously crafted interplay of symbolism and texture. Faux fur, handmade by the brand's skilled artisans, evokes the softness and fluffiness of freshly fallen snow. Exquisite embroidery featuring crystals and delicate jewellery crafted from epoxy resin vividly replicate icy branches and frozen surfaces. Each accessory is unique, individually handcrafted to emphasise the exclusive nature of the concept.
The colour palette also carries symbolic weight. The fashionable brown shades shimmering with sequins evoke images of damp earth soaked by snow and rain. Grey sequins subtly veiled by translucent tulle recall a cold lake shrouded in morning mist. The delicate pink hues suggest a mystical evening sky poised on the brink of the season's first snowfall.
Gaziza paid particular attention to lacework: intricately decorated with beads and glass bugle beads, it delicately conveys frost's fragile beauty and its chilly breath. Yet the real centrepiece of this collection lies in accessories shaped like hearts encased in ice. Crowning it all is a majestic bridal tiara resembling genuine icicles, though meticulously sculpted from epoxy resin.
