Ananyaa Sood, an Indian-born resident of Dubai, is set to participate in the US Kids World Teen Championship at Pinehurst CC, USA in July. Recently, Ananyaa clinched the 13-year-old Division of the US Kids European Championship in Scotland, scoring 73, 73, and 71 in three rounds, totaling 217, one over par, winning by a significant six-shot margin.
Ananyaa is an online student at the United States Performance Academy (USPA) and a member of The Els Club, Dubai. She receives coaching from Sujjan Singh at the Claude Harmon CH3 at the club. Currently in the US, her summer highlight includes the US Kids World Teen Championship from 25th to 27th July 2024 at Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club, Pinehurst. She will compete in the Girls 13-year-old Division with a +1.6 handicap.
"I am excited about my busy summer schedule in the US. I aim to capitalize on my victory in Scotland," Ananyaa remarked. The US Kids World Championships, hosted in historic Pinehurst, North Carolina, are renowned as premier junior golf events globally. These annual events attract over 2,300 players from more than 50 countries, making them among the largest golf championships worldwide.
U.S. Kids Local Tours, established in 2002, provide players of all levels the opportunity to participate in tournaments, learn, compete, and make new friends. There are now over 115 U.S. Kids Local Tours worldwide, including in the UAE. Other UAE junior golfers who have qualified through the UAE US Kids Chapter and are competing in the US this summer include Poyraz Kocagozoglu, Zayn Maktari, Aarya Ganguly, Ela Camurlu, Alexander Rushika, Thomas Buchard, Lara Bakhou, and Ananyaa Sood.
Ananyaa Sood's summer schedule includes the FCG International Championship (5th – 6th July), IMG Academy World Championship (9th – 11th July), FCG Callaway World Championship (15th – 17th July), US Kids World Teen Championship (25th – 27th July), AJGA Babygrande Stanford Junior All Star (6th – 8th August), and The Spin Junior All Star (14th – 16th August).
