Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, the free-to-play mobile game launched in 2017, is now available in a 'Complete' edition for $10. This updated version eliminates Pocket Camp's microtransactions in favor of a fixed price, at least initially. The price will increase to $20 after January 30, 2025. The game retains all the features of the original edition and introduces new ones, such as the ability to import custom designs from Animal Crossing: New Horizons on Switch. Players can apply these designs to clothing, umbrellas, walkways, flooring, and more. Existing players can continue their progress by linking their Pocket Camp app to their Nintendo Account and transferring their save data to the Complete edition, but this must be done by June 1, 2025.
In August, Nintendo announced that support for Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp would end on November 28. The mobile game, which launched in November 2017 and required an internet connection, initially offered free play but introduced monthly subscriptions in 2019, with one tier increasing to $12 per month in 2022. These subscriptions are not part of the new Complete edition. In the game, players take on the role of a campground manager, engaging in activities like befriending animal characters, fishing, and hunting bugs, similar to the mainline series.
As for New Horizons, the Switch game has sold 46.45 million copies and is one of the best-selling video games globally.
