Adieu to Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp and bonjour to Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete. Nintendo has unveiled the offline-only sequel to the app, which will abandon the free-to-play model in favor of a one-time purchase of $10, increasing to $20 early next year. Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete is set to launch on December 2, allowing original Pocket Camp players to transfer their progress. However, there is a strict deadline for this transfer. Save data from Pocket Camp must be linked to a Nintendo Account by 11 PM PT on June 1, 2025, to be eligible for the transfer to Pocket Camp Complete.
Once linked, Nintendo confirmed in a press release that purchasing the new app will enable players to "retain access to a majority of the items and events that have been part of the game for the past seven years." The special introductory price of $10 will double after January 30, 2025. In August, Nintendo announced that support for Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp would end on November 28. The mobile game, launched in November 2017, required an internet connection to play. Although free to play, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp introduced monthly subscriptions in 2019, with one tier increasing to $12 per month in 2022. These subscriptions will not be part of the new app.
Meanwhile, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete introduces a new feature called Whistle Pass, where players can gather to enjoy musical performances. Another exclusive feature is Camper Cards, which can be traded via QR codes and include information such as a player's favorite neighbor. In Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete, players take on the role of a campground manager. Similar to the mainline series, the app involves befriending animal companions, fishing, and hunting bugs. The game will be available for Android and Apple iOS devices.
