Another day, another major actor joins Christopher Nolan's upcoming film! Since the Oscar-winning director of 'Oppenheimer' announced his latest project at Universal last month, a slew of high-profile names have been added to the cast, making it one of the most anticipated blockbusters of summer 2026. First, Matt Damon signed on, followed by Tom Holland, who secured a leading role. Last week, Zendaya and Anne Hathaway also joined the project. Now, according to THR, 'A Quiet Place: Day One' star Lupita Nyong'o has become the latest addition to this star-studded ensemble.

There were hints that Nyong'o might be involved in Nolan's 13th film, as Deadline had briefly mentioned her in social media posts after Hathaway and Zendaya's casting, only to retract the information. However, her official confirmation now brings a seasoned blockbuster actor to the mix. Nyong'o, who has anchored two 'Black Panther' movies, voiced characters in 'The Force Awakens' and 'The Last Jedi', and led 'A Quiet Place: Day One', adds significant star power to Nolan's mysterious new project.

As for the film's plot, speculation ranges from a 'Blue Thunder'-inspired helicopter action film to a period vampire picture, but nothing has been confirmed. Directed by Nolan from his own script, this will be his second collaboration with Universal. In a Variety report, IMAX CEO Richard Gelfond revealed that Nolan plans to experiment with 'new IMAX technology' and 'never-before-used equipment' during filming. The exact implications of this remain unclear, but we'll find out when Christopher Nolan's next movie debuts on IMAX screens worldwide on 17 July, 2026.
