Anya Taylor-Joy is set to return to Netflix with her newest venture, a series based on Bella Mackie's popular novel, How to Kill Your Family. She will portray the main character, Grace Bernard, a figure fueled by retribution, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. The series, comprising eight episodes, is being produced by Sid Gentle Films Ltd., renowned for their work on Killing Eve. Bella Mackie, the novel's author, is also a co-executive producer on the series.

The narrative revolves around Grace Bernard, the illegitimate child of a wealthy man who left her and her mother. Driven by a desire for revenge, Grace plans to eliminate each member of her father's family, saving him for last, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Taylor-Joy, known for her roles in Furiosa: A Mad Max Story, The Menu, and Last Night in Soho, shared her enthusiasm for the project.

"As soon as I finished the book, I knew I had to be part of this story," Taylor-Joy stated, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. She added, "After a bit of (gentle) research on Bella Mackie, I'm ecstatic to be working with Sally, Lizzie, and Emma. I'm eager to delve deeper into this project." Emma Moran, known for her work on Extraordinary, will be the lead writer and executive producer alongside Sally Woodward Gentle, Lizzie Rusbridger, and Lee Morris for Sid Gentle Films. Taylor-Joy will also serve as an executive producer through her company, LadyKiller.

Bella Mackie expressed her excitement for the adaptation, saying, "It's been exhilarating to see my characters come to life under this talented team. Anya is the ideal choice for Grace; she seems to grasp her even better than I do.
