Apple's eagerly awaited AI tools, referred to as Apple Intelligence, are now slated for release later than originally planned. A recent Bloomberg report indicates that these tools will be unveiled after the launch of the new iOS 18 software for iPhones and iPads. Bloomberg states that Apple intends to roll out Apple Intelligence via a series of software updates in October, several weeks after the initial release of iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 in September. Further updates for Apple Intelligence are planned for the end of 2024 and early 2025. Apple is, however, set to make Apple Intelligence accessible to software developers as early as this week, enabling them to test the software on beta versions of iOS and iPadOS 18.1. Due to concerns over the stability of Apple Intelligence features, the company has decided to delay their release, separating it from the launch of the new iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 operating systems. Apple's proprietary AI, dubbed "Apple Intelligence," is deeply integrated into almost every facet of iOS 18 and the iPhone 16 series. This integration improves various functions such as Siri, Apple's applications like Safari and Mail, photo enhancement, generative text and images, proofreading, and more. Apple initially revealed its plans for Apple Intelligence at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June, emphasizing the new capabilities it would introduce to iPhones and iPads. The delay in the release of Apple Intelligence comes after the postponement of three new AI features due to recently enforced European Union regulations. These regulations mandate that companies ensure their devices are compatible with rival products and services.
