UAE judoka Aram Grigorian remains in the running for a medal at the Paris Olympics, despite his quarterfinal defeat to Japan's Murao Sanshiro in the under-90 kg category on Wednesday.
Eliminated from the semifinal, Grigorian is set to compete against Greece's Tsilidis Theodoros in the repechage round at 6:30 pm UAE Time today. The victor of this bout will advance to the bronze medal playoff. Previously, Grigorian secured victories in his initial two matches on Tuesday, defeating Swedish contender Marcus Nyman and Uzbekistan's champion Bobonov Davlat Balaybun.
