The recently concluded Arcane animated series on Netflix has proven to be one of the best promotional tools for League of Legends that Riot Games could have envisioned. However, some fans are already expressing dissatisfaction with certain elements from Arcane being incorporated into the game, particularly with the new design for Viktor. The updated models were introduced on the test servers in November, with plans for implementation in the main game scheduled for next week.
Before the changes, Viktor's in-game representation was characterized by a larger, more formidable figure compared to the new Viktor character model. The revised version draws inspiration from his portrayal in the show, featuring a significantly slimmer body shape. In response to the negative feedback, Riot Games has already made adjustments to the latest designs for Viktor, but this has not yet resolved the issue.
A video showcasing the differences between the new Viktor skins and the old ones has been released. Following the initial redesign, the Deathsworn Viktor and Creator Viktor skins were altered to more closely resemble Viktor's previous in-game appearance, without completely reversing the changes made to his model. Despite these modifications, hardcore Viktor fans—especially those who purchased the original skins—do not seem to be appeased.
In response, Riot's Paul Bellezza stated on X/Twitter that the developer is "considering making further adjustments to Viktor's update based on player feedback." Earlier this year, Riot announced that League of Legends will introduce a seasonal model starting in January 2025. The company also addressed the fan outcry over the controversial Immortalized Legend Ahri skin, which was priced between $250 and $450.
Outside of the game, a report indicated that Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo were paid $5 million after their plans to create a live-action League of Legends movie fell through.
