Arcane Season 1 concluded in 2021 with a significant cliffhanger, leaving fans eagerly anticipating the next installment. During the hiatus, Jinx voice actress Ella Purnell emerged as a standout star in both Yellowjackets and Fallout. Next month, Arcane Season 2 will finally continue the story as Jinx ignites a war between the cities of Piltover and Zaun, shattering the potential for peace.
In a recently released trailer, Jinx's sister, Vi (played by Hailee Steinfeld), acknowledges that there is no turning back for her sibling. A final confrontation between the sisters seems inevitable. The trailer offers glimpses of this battle, along with flashbacks to Season 1, depicting Vi and Jinx as children. In the present, Vi appears to be punishing herself for failing to save Jinx, despite having found a place among the citizens of Piltover.
It remains unclear how many members of Piltover's ruling council survived Jinx's attack, but Vi is not alone in her determination to stop Jinx... or to kill her. Conversely, the previous trailer indicated that the people of Zaun now see Jinx as a hero and a leader, viewing her actions as a strike against their oppressor in a way they could never achieve. With the weapons designed by Jinx, Zaun might stand a chance in the war against Piltover. However, the latest trailer introduces a shadowy figure of unknown power and intent, suggesting that the looming conflict may not be the only threat.
Netflix has divided the second and final season of Arcane into three acts, which will be released over three weeks. Arcane Season 2 Act 1 is set to premiere on November 9, followed by Act 2 on November 16, and Act 3 on November 23.
