Argentina announced a 29-man squad led by Lionel Messi for their upcoming friendlies before the Copa America. Forward Paulo Dybala, who has been dealing with injuries, was not included in the squad.

Argentina's friendlies are against Ecuador on June 9 at Soldier Field Stadium in Chicago and Guatemala at Commanders Field in Washington five days later. Coach Lionel Scaloni needs to reduce the squad by three players to meet the 26-player limit set by CONMEBOL for the Copa America, commencing on June 20.

In addition to Messi, veterans like Angel Di Maria and Nicolas Otamendi, as well as young talents Leonardo Balerdi, Valentin Barco, Alejandro Garnacho, and Valentin Carboni, have been included in the squad. Notably, Paulo Dybala, who has missed previous internationals due to injuries, is absent from the squad.

The Copa America journey for Argentina begins on June 20 against Canada, followed by matches against Chile and Peru. The tournament in the United States concludes on July 14.
