Moscow will host the fifth anniversary contemporary art fair Art Russia 2024
Art Russia 2024, founded by the Synergy Corporation and curator, art critic Elizaveta Frolova, will be held in Gostiny Dvor from March 28 to 31. The contemporary art fair will feature more than 200 artists and galleries, as well as a special project dedicated to new types of art and the children's area “Unlimited Possibilities. Superman".
“5 years after its founding, the fair has become one of the largest platforms in Russia, which brings together independent artists, gallerists, art critics and entrepreneurs. I am confident that the edition of Art Russia 2024 will become a landmark for contemporary Russian art,” says Vadim Lobov, the President of the Synergy Corporation.
“Art Russia from the very beginning was a platform that set new trends and changed the world of art. We were the first in the art market to put galleries and independent artists side by side, encouraging them to have a closer and more productive dialogue. This year, for the first time, we will talk about video games and comics as new forms of art,” shared co-founder Elizaveta Frolova.
As a part of cooperation with the popular culture festival Fan Fest, Art Russia 2024 will present for the first time such forms of contemporary art as video games and comics. These new forms of art will also be the subject of discussion at the fair's business forum, where experts will consider whether popular culture can be considered a type of contemporary art.
The international art forum within the framework of Art Russia will address a wide range of issues: from the problems of promoting artists and new trends in the art market to new forms of art. Experts will discuss strategies for success in the art market, the development of science-art in Russia, features of the modern auction market in Russia, as well as methods of supporting artists.
Among the speakers of Art Russia 2024 are Director of the M'ARS Center for Contemporary Art, Art Director, expert in the field of multimedia and VR technologies Elena Davydova, digital and NFT artist Ruslan Vyaltsev, trustee of the Tretyakov Gallery Natalya Basmanova, founder of the ARSLONGA gallery Veronika Ermicheva, curator Ekaterina Shcherbakova-Torchilevskaya, founder of SAS Metagallery Stella Labuzhskaya, co-owner of the ArtPost company Igor Slozhenko and others.
Each edition of Art Russia differs not only in the composition of the participants in the main program, but also in the content of the children's zone. The theme of the children's zone in 2024 is “Unlimited possibilities. Superman". The curators will hold a competition among young artists, and the best works will be presented at Art Russia along with the works of already famous artists.
The general partner of the fair, the Arenadata group, a leading developer of products for collecting, storing and analyzing data, will unite event participants to create a unique visual object that reflects the role of each person in the total amount of information we have accumulated.
As part of the opening of the exhibition, the automotive strategic partner of MB RUS JSC, the exclusive distributor of SERES AITO cars in Russia, will stage an impressive performance in partnership with street artist Evgeny Ches. The artist will create large-scale graffiti on silk canvas, which will become art objects at Art Russia 2024.
The Ouglechepole agricultural holding will also become a partner of the contemporary art fair. The exhibition space of the The Ouglechepole brand will transport visitors to the creative environment of the SyrKultProsvet museum-factory, a new center for gastronomic and industrial tourism three hours drive from Moscow.
As part of the forum program of the fair, on March 29, experts from the agricultural holding will speak on the topic “Experience in creating a creative space: Museum-factory SyrKultProsvet - a center of gastronomic and industrial tourism.”
