Assassin's Creed Shadows seems poised to attract those who enjoy delivering blunt-force trauma and deadly stab wounds to digital adversaries, but it appears that the Ubisoft-developed game will also captivate aspiring architects. One of the new features in the game will be a base-building mode, enabling players to construct their own headquarters and tailor it to their preferences.
In a video uploaded by IGN China (via Eurogamer) and subsequently removed, Ubisoft outlined how players will have an acre of land to establish their base. The mode seems straightforward, allowing easy placement of buildings and paths, with options to rotate and customize them for when the game's protagonists, Yasuke and Naoe, require a moment of rest.
Several Assassin's Creed games have featured hideouts for players to frequent, and the previous mainline game, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, included a settlement in England named Ravensthorpe. Players could invest in their base of operations, expanding it and increasing their options to purchase superior gear from various merchants.
Assassin's Creed Shadows is set to launch on November 15 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, four years after Valhalla debuted during the launch of new PlayStation and Xbox consoles. In related news, multiple remakes of Assassin's Creed games are currently in development, and one of the spin-offs—Assassin's Creed Invictus—is rumored to be a multiplayer-focused game reportedly inspired by Fall Guys.
