Atlanta police are currently engaged in a tense standoff with an armed individual inside a luxurious downtown hotel, as reported. The suspect, armed, has barricaded themselves within the Four Seasons Hotel in Midtown, according to WSB-TV. This situation has led to the evacuation of the building by SWAT teams, who have also established a perimeter and issued a shelter-in-place order for surrounding buildings. The suspect is thought to have drawn a gun on someone on a high floor of the hotel, with multiple gunshots being heard. Witnesses have reported seeing the suspect at least once on a hotel balcony, where they allegedly threw a handgun down to the street below. At one point, the suspect was observed with their hands raised on the balcony, seemingly surrendering, but then proceeded to throw furniture out of the window, as reported by FOX 5.
