[UPDATE] Audi has unveiled US specifications for the Q6 Sportback E-Tron, available exclusively with all-wheel drive and a larger battery pack. The estimated range is 300 miles. The standard Q6 boasts 422 hp (456 hp peak), while the SQ6 delivers 483 hp (509 hp peak). It will hit US dealerships next spring or summer, with full details to be announced closer to launch.
The SUV-coupe concept, popularized by BMW with the X6, transitioned to electric vehicles a few years back. Audi currently offers two niche models: the Q4 Sportback E-Tron and the Q8 Sportback E-Tron. For the 2024 Paris Motor Show, Audi is showcasing the Q6 E-Tron Sportback, positioned as the middle child in its lineup.
As the name suggests, this model is a sleeker version of the 2025 Q6 E-Tron, sharing its platform with the new Porsche Macan. The Sportback's roofline is nearly 1.5 inches lower, reducing the drag coefficient from 0.28 to 0.26. Audi even compares the coupe-inspired roofline to the first-generation TT Coupe, though the overall bulkier design makes the resemblance less apparent.
Following Audi's trend on the Premium Platform Electric architecture, the Q6 Sportback E-Tron features split headlights, distinguishing it from the smaller Q4 Sportback E-Tron. The tapered rear end slightly reduces cargo space, offering 511 liters with rear seats up and 1,373 liters with them folded. The front trunk (frunk) remains unchanged at 64 liters, with an additional 25 liters of storage inside the cabin.
The interior mirrors the Q6 E-Tron, featuring a triple-screen setup: a 14.5-inch infotainment system, an 11.9-inch driver's display, and a 10.9-inch passenger screen. A head-up display with augmented reality is optional. The Q6 Sportback E-Tron is available in various configurations, including rear-wheel drive with a single motor or Quattro with dual motors, and two battery sizes: 75.8 kWh and 94.9 kWh.
The top-tier SQ6 delivers 483 hp, accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds. The Quattro-equipped Q6 Sportback E-Tron offers 382 hp, achieving the same sprint in 5.9 seconds. The rear-wheel drive Performance model packs 302 hp and hits 60 mph in 6.6 seconds, while the base model manages 248 hp and completes the sprint in seven seconds.
For maximum range, the rear-wheel drive Q6 Sportback E-Tron Performance with the 94.9-kWh battery offers up to 408 miles (656 kilometers) in the WLTP cycle. The 75.8-kWh version provides 339 miles (545 kilometers). Depending on the model, charging support reaches up to 270 kW, allowing a 10% to 80% charge in 22 minutes or 165 miles (265 kilometers) in 10 minutes.
Unlike the Q4 E-Tron Sportback on the MEB platform, this premium electric SUV features adaptive air suspension and an 800-volt electrical system for superior charging power. Inside, a Bang & Olufsen sound system with 20 speakers, including four in the front headrests, enhances the audio experience.
After its debut at the 2024 Paris Motor Show, the Audi Q6 E-Tron Sportback will launch in Europe by the end of this year or early 2025. US specifications are yet to be announced.
