Audi is not just updating the A5 and unveiling the much-anticipated A6 E-Tron; they are also introducing the third-generation Q5 SUV, designed for those who desire Audi's signature style with a bit more ground clearance. While the Q6 is electric, the Q5 runs on gasoline and comes equipped with numerous features to entertain the entire family. The Q5 has been a top seller for Audi and a significant model in the US market, with over 1.6 million first-generation models and more than a million second-generation models on the road. The new 2025 Audi Q5 will be available in two variants at launch in the United States: the base model with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 268 horsepower, and the SQ5 with a turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 engine delivering 362 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. Both models are paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch S Tronic gearbox and Quattro all-wheel drive.

The Q5 models feature a combination of suspension systems, with the standard model offering comfort on steel springs, while the SQ5 includes a sports suspension with Frequency Selective Damping for a more dynamic ride. Audi's new design philosophy is evident in the Q5's exterior, which appears softer yet retains distinctive lines that guide the eye. The interior is more angular and aggressive, reflecting Audi's current design trends while paying homage to the brand's past. The Q5 is based on the Premium Platform Combustion, which allows for flexibility in vehicle height, similar to the Audi A5. The infotainment system includes a large curved OLED display, and the Q5 also features an adjustable heads-up display and a Dynamic Interaction Light.

The Q5 offers practicality with ample space for passengers and a sizable trunk, making it suitable for family use. Pricing in Europe starts at €52,300 for the base model and €82,900 for the SQ5. Full US specifications, including EPA mileage figures, trim levels, and pricing, are yet to be determined and will be announced closer to the 2025 launch date.
