Four individuals sustained injuries, two of them critically, during a brawl that escalated on Monday on a suburban train near Paris, according to a police source. One of the victims had a hand severed, while another suffered a fractured skull, the source added, requesting anonymity. Two others received minor injuries. Several people, including some minors, were involved in the altercation that began around 8am (0700 GMT). The incident occurred while the RER suburban express train was at the Ozoir-la-Ferriere station southeast of Paris. Since the train was stationary at a station, the violence did not disrupt traffic on the RER E line, which traverses east-west through Paris and its suburbs, according to state rail operator SNCF.
