If Bane and Deathstroke were joining forces in the next Batman movie, the Dark Knight would face a formidable challenge. However, DC Studios has other plans, aiming to bring these villains to the big screen in their own film rather than uniting them against the Caped Crusader. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Matthew Orton, known for writing Captain America: Brave New World, has been hired to pen the script for this untitled project, which is still without a director. Orton's credits also include Marvel's Moon Knight series, the South African crime drama Devil's Peak, and the WWII film Operation Finale.
One of the intriguing aspects missing from this report is the plot device that brings Bane and Deathstroke together. Their characters seem quite mismatched, with Deathstroke often targeting the Titans and Bane being one of Batman's most formidable adversaries. There is no established comic book history between them, and they don't typically cross paths. The only common ground they share is their status as prominent villains in the DC Comics universe.
Tom Hardy portrayed Bane in The Dark Knight Rises (2012), a significant improvement from Bane's brief appearance in Batman and Robin. Meanwhile, Deathstroke has had cameo roles in both versions of Zack Snyder's Justice League, with Joe Manganiello taking on the character. If Ben Affleck's Batman script had been utilized, Manganiello's Deathstroke would have played the main villain. As of now, DC Studios has not announced a release date for the Bane and Deathstroke film.
