A delegation from the Bangladesh Cricket Board, including President Faruque Ahmed and CEO Nizam Uddin Chowdhury, met with the Chairman of the Emirates Cricket Board, Nahyan Mabarak Al Nahyan, in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday. ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice and other ECB officials were also present. The discussion focused on the organization of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Bangladesh 2024, which will be hosted in the UAE, specifically in Dubai and Sharjah from October 3 to October 20. This event was relocated from Bangladesh last month.

The BCB remains the host of the tournament, while the ECB will manage the event. Chairman Nahyan Mabarak Al Nahyan expressed his delight in hosting the ICC Women's T20 World Cup in the UAE, highlighting the ECB's proven capabilities in hosting major events. He thanked the International Cricket Council and the Bangladesh Cricket Board for their trust and confidence.

President Faruque Ahmed of the BCB thanked the Emirates Cricket Board for taking on the responsibility of staging the tournament in Dubai and Sharjah, noting the venues' history of hosting international cricket, including significant global events. He expressed full confidence in the ECB's ability to successfully stage the tournament and looked forward to close collaboration with the ECB and the ICC.
